Hi Guys. I'm getting a Macbook Pro 15" i5 in the next 4 days, and i'm going to put my 2009 Mini into retirement. I was wondering if I could use the Mac Mini as a "media center" for my plasma that sits downstairs.

I want to connect the Mini through HDMI (with sound too).

Does anybody know if the Mini Display Port on the Mac Mini has sound as well as video? Could i use a Mini Display > DVI adapter and use a DVI > HDMI Cord?

What are my other options?

Thanks!

you can always use 3.5 to fiber optic cable to connect the mini to your home theater and get digital audio quality if you have optical audio input at your tv/home theater
