Hi all,
I live in switzerland and baught the new :apple:TV yesterday.
Tried to connect that to B&Os BeoVision7-32 TV using HDMI - DVI Cable.
Video is fine but no sound...
:apple:TV has only HDMI out no component- or other out (except optical) and
B&Os BeoVision7-32 TV has only DVI in...
Any Ideas ?
Thanx

DVI doesn't carry audio, only video. The best solution is to use your current cable to provide your video, and then use an optical S/PDIF cable to carry the audio - assuming your B&O TV has optical? If not, you're then headed towards needing external speakers/receiver.

Your TV has got coaxial digital audio inputs so you can use one of these converters for your audio.

It keeps it digital so the built in surround sound will still work.

I have the same problem as geekay (I own a Beovision 7 40'' mk II). Bought this optical/coaxial converter from m-audio

I can still get no sound though. I talked to B&O and they said it's because my tv doesn't support pcm format. I googled a little bit and I think that the apple tv outputs pcm sound format through the optical output when the sound source is not 5.1.

There is a option in the menu that let's you enable/disable dolby digital out. I tried several combinations but none worked.

I'm also pretty sure that the trailers of recent movies should be in 5.1 and therefore should work, right?

Maybe some a/v guru can help us?

I have the same problem, my solution is to connect an external A/V receiver with optical audio input but still looking for a way to connect directly to my TV.

Zurki, do you got a solution??

I used this converter with with my Beovsion 7 -40 (no HDMI) and Apple TV 2 and no sound at all. I don't understand this. According to logic, this should work. I have video through DVI-cable, but no sound! Pleas help!.
