I have a usb-c dongle that has audio jack on it, whenever I plug in to that dongle, my iPad would switch its builtin audio output to that dongle. Is there a way I can manually choose which audio devices, iPad or USB, to use as the sound output device? I can not locate such feature in iPadOS. Thanks.

Play something, from YouTube, from Apple Music app Beats 1 radio, whatever.
And lock your iPhone or iPad, unlock. Before swiping up, look at the icon with a black circle in this screenshot.
You should be able to see a list of devices that are considered as audio output device. iPadOS works roughly the same.
I’m on iOS 12 on my iPhone X and iPad OS13 on my work air2 and they both act this way, if I pull down control center with the device unlocked and do a long press on the audio box, it makes that box larger and more detailed, which then shows the icon listed above by Shirasaki. Then touch that icon and I can control where I want my output to be.
I don’t have the dongle setup you do so I can’t verify it works just for THAT but it does work between my outputs.
Ps also very handy to use for switching between devices with a single set of AirPods without going into the full settings menu all the time to connect them from one to the other.

I am using iPadOS beta. Found the Airplay dropdown list but it only lists one sound device, there is no iPad internal speaker listed if I plugged in a usb-c to audio dongle.
I would call this an iOS bug. The airplay menu only applies to wirelessly connected devices, so external hardware-connected audio devices are not listed and there is actually no possible way to enable or disable external audio devices that are physically connected to the iOS device. (OP: only current way to disable the headphone jack is unplug the hub)

Thank you, Hym, that makes perfect sense now. I was wondering why it can only show one device while multiple devices are plugged in.
