Is there a way to create a solid background for iOS (other than black)? I'm not digging the built in wallpapers. I was thinking something like a solid blue.
You can use a JPEG or PNG image as a wallpaper. For example, you can use an iPhone photo or an image stored in Photos.
To create a solid color background is really easy. You will need an app capable of creating a JPEG or PNG, but those are easy to find, even the freeware ones. You can even create it on a computer then send it to your iPhone or iPad via email or some other method then save it to Photos. Since it is a single solid color background you don't need to worry about getting the proportions right, you can even create a large square image. Size should normally be the size of your screen, but to cover any iPhone screen with a single color wallpaper a 1920 x 1920 pixels image is more than enough. Save the file to Photos.
Go into Photos, select the image to use as a wallpaper, press the icon with square and arrow pointing upwards out of it, scroll down and select the "Use as Wallpaper" option, follow the instructions and your are done.
A solid color wallpaper is easy. If you decide to create a wallpaper with a design, then be more conscience of the screen proportions of your iPhone or iPad, otherwise it might not display the way you think. Also, if you want to ensure the colors look good, apply the Display P3 color profile to the wallpaper when you are creating it. That matches up to the screens on iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
