How to create disk image from CD

Hey - I have several CD games that I want to "load" onto my hard drive so my kids don't have to insert the cd's to play but can't figure out how to do this. . .On the PC, I have a utility program that creates a mountable image of the cd so that it thinks it is loaded. . .how to do this on the Mac? Note that I have legal versions of these games and am not attempting to illegally copy, etc. just use them without my kids trashing them or the cds.
