Hi,

I am trying to see if there is a way to create a keyboard shortcut that enables me to toggle 'dark mode' off and on in the 'Mail' application.

I understand how to create basic keyboard shortcuts, but the problem I am having is the command to enable/disable dark mode in Mail is nested in the 'Viewing' tab of the Preferences... menu command. ("

Use dark backgrounds for messages".. attached an image of what I am talking about)

Is there anyway for me to create a keyboard shortcut for an application that nested into the Preferences menu like this?

Thanks!

ich

it's right above your post! uncheck 'use dark backgrounds for messages'....
Thank you! I see it now. I unchecked so my email messages are not dark.

How about the Messages app? I would like to have my messages NOT dark too.

So basically this is how I want my color scheme:

Light Mode: Mail, Messages, Documents Folder

Dark Mode: Photos, Apple News, Other Bits and Pieces
