Is there a quick and easy way to create a new .txt file within a folder?

Do you want a blank .txt file in that folder?
Or, a file that has actual text?

One "quick and easy" method would be to create a text file. You have TextEdit.
Launch TextEdit.
Save a file, which could be blank, or whatever you like.
You can make a new folder, including naming the new folder, directly from the Save dialog window.
And, you can choose the location for saving both the folder, and the file.

Takes about 10 seconds, maybe less the next time.

Thanks, that works for me. I also put textedit in the dock for quick access....:)

You can also highlight and drag text from anywhere and drop it into a folder to save a text clipping. No need for a .txt file.
