How to crop out a section of a video file on a Mac?

I have a .MOV file on my Macbook Air, and I want to remove a 15 minute section from the middle of it... is that possible to do natively on a Mac? Do I need some special software and if so can anyone advise which..?

I believe you can cut videos using Quicktime.
For a more advance editing, use iMovie. Simply put in the parts of the video you want and export
