Notice the "Sony" icon. Why are there arrows and how do I turn this feature on and off? How do I enable it in very folder?

Not true. I changed the icon size in finder and the arrows are no longer appearing.
seems buggy. i just tried changing icon sizes, and now, the arrows only show on large icons, and not showing when i revert to 32x32 (my default size since forever). will report it to apple on the feedback app...

Thanks. I like the arrows and want to get them back.

you could try moving the file into a folder, duping it, then moving the dupe back to the desktop (just a guess).

anyway, definitely buggy behavior (altho personally, since scrolling thru a doc at 32 pixels is useless, i prefer without the arrows...)

I tried many things and the arrows have not come back. They were very useful especially for video and audio files on the desktop.

have you tried force-quitting the finder? rebooting your mac?

not sure what a path to a fix is, since it's a bug. hopefully apple will sort this out with the next update (or someone else on this forum will have a workaround)...

I have not but I bet a donut it won’t work. I will try when I get home from church.

I lost the donut. Rebooting fixed the problem.

the question is... if it happens again, will you need to reboot again? anyway, reported it on the feedback app...
Found the feedback app. Is this new? Wow I did not know this existed. Better than going to a website. Gonna add it to the dock. Will apple reply to my feedback?

Cant add app to the dock as I dont know where it is. I used searchlight to find.

All the years I've used macOS and I've never even noticed this behavior. It doesn't surprise me though, as I've always had very large displays, so my icon size has always been set to a larger pixel size (128x128 currently). The smallest I can go with still getting the preview arrows is 64.
