I got an email once where the sender called me by something irrelevant, and for some reason since then the mail app "decided" that it's my name, and since then every mail I get to that inbox - that irrelevant title is showing at the "to" field, instead of my name or the email address without any name.

I checked my contacts, that title isn't written anywhere, but mail insists to call me like that.

How can I make it stop using that title?

Thanks a lot..

That "name" you speak of is usually connected to your email address in Mail>Preferences>Accounts>Account Information, under the Heading "Full Name".
You could delete your existing account and re-create it with the proper credentials, that should fix things up for you.

Sorry this is all I can suggest.

Try clicking the Window menu in Mail and select Previous Recipients and delete everything from there.

Thanks, that did the trick.
I didn't delete everything, just the wrong reference.
After restarting mail app, every wrong title was gone....
