Hey guys, I have tons and tons of duplicates in my itunes library. Its really annoying. How would I go about and delete the duplicates. I tried once but actually deleted both songs or in some cases even more than one song

Doug's Applescripts are the Mac OS solution.

Unfortunately, the best way will cost you $19. Dupin. It's the smartest-fastest solution. I went from 82,000 songs to 64,000 using SongGenie and then Dupin. Well worth the cost.

Personally, I would never trust any automated solution for deleting duplicates, unless it's two iTunes entries pointing to the same .mp3 file. While it's more time consuming to do it manually, you have much less risk of losing something that you didn't intend to delete.
