I'm using Mail 6.0 and recently imported ALL of my Sent and Received messages from Yahoo (thousands of emails). The problem is, when I delete my emails in Mail, they also get deleted from my Yahoo mail on the internet. I would like to be able to delete emails (specifically those with huge attachements) from my computer/Mail, but then keep them on the server at Yahoo.

What settings in Preferences do I need to change? Obviously I want many of them cleared off of my computer but still available if I were to login to Yahoo on the internet. I used to be able to do this with my the older versions of Apple Mail, but can't find that setting. Please help. Thanks!

Also- when I select a message in Mail and hit Delete or the Trash Can key...where does it go??? I now have a Delete Messages folder under ON MY MAC, but 10% of the time, the messages don't go in there. It's currently empty but I have a whole bunch of messages I just deleted...

Can't be done.

Deleted messages go in the trash folder of the server they belong to.

I don't know if this is same for newer versions of Mail, but under 4.5 using POP, go to Preferences, Accounts, Advanced and uncheck the check box in front of Remove copy from server after retrieving a message,
