How to delete HEIF images from Library

Is there a way of deleting these files.

The desktop pictures folder has about 1Gb of the these images.

The folder appears to be locked and I cannot delete them.

SIP (System Integrity Protection) doesn't allow for the deletion of certain files. Read more bout SIP here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204899

But SIP is already disabled.

These files could be deleted in Mojave, not sure why so with Catalina.

Is that why there are now two separate volumes in Catalina? Perhaps an anti-malware feature?

After disabling SIP, you have to mount the system volume as writable with

sudo mount -wu /

MacOS Catalina has a dedicated system volume now

Haven't seen the video, but the following command seemed to work: sudo mount -t apfs -wu /dev/disk1s5 /Volumes For anyone else wanting to try this, replace disk1s5 with the identifier for your system partition (you can find this in Disk Utility by clicking Info with the partition selected, then...
