How to delete my greeting icon? Also font ??

A couple of questions.... #1 how do I delete or change the little icon on my start up screen? It is a football with my name below it.

Also how do add a permanent font as well as size and text color , to e mail?

Icon: Go to System Preferences > User & Groups and choose your user Click on the football icon (not in the list) and choose another icon (or take a picture).

Thanks. The 1 st one worked...but when I go to MAIL...that box in PREFERENCES is not checked. It wants me to start an @icloud mail address. I am on Gmail and don't want to change.

Are you using Gmail in a browser or do you have some other Mail client (not Mail.app)?

If you don't want to use iCloud, then... don't.
I don't use it, either.

I hit the G mail link you sent...it took me to G Mail. BUT it is not the same page I am accessing when I hit the e mail icon on my toolbar!

I can easily access fonts, etc on the page your link takes me to.

It is a different looking page than my MAC toolbar takes me to.

FORGIVE my ignorance here....I am not a Techie by any sense of the word.

Apparently the MAC folks set me up with a different e mail when they set it up, the day I bought my laptop.
