How to disable "are you sure" warnings in Mail?

I finally said goodbye to my beloved Snow Leopard last week and upgraded to El Capitan (did a fresh install on a new drive). It's a whole different world, but I'm getting there.

I also decided to change email clients. I have always used Outlook but want to switch to Apple Mail now. I have it set up, all is working fine, but I keep getting the annoying "are you sure?" warnings when I want to empty the Deleted Items folder. I already unchecked the boxes in Finder's Preferences (Advanced tab) and that made the warning go away for Finder's, but not for Mail's trash can. Anybody any ideas how to disable it in Mail?

One work around is in mail preferences->Accounts->Mailbox Behaviors.
Under Trash set "Permanently erase messages when:
to "Quitting Mail"

Now whenever you quit Mail the Trash folder will be emptied without any popup warnings.

Well yes, but I always empty the Deleted Items folder manually as I don't like clutter and would like to do it without getting the warning every single time. I was hoping there would be a solution on the command level or something. But I guess then I'll just have to learn to not manually empty folders in Mail any more. Just another thing to get used to in El Capitan.

Strangely enough I found the look of El Capitan rather old fashioned with its flat, unimaginative design. And I was amazed to find Stock crap in the Today panel. WTF? First thing I did was get rid of a lot of pre-installed Apple crap. I have to say that a lot of the new functionality is lost on me anyway as I have no mobile devices, am not on social media and I like to keep my stuff with me on external drives where I know it's safe. So there really was never an urgent reason to upgrade.

I did want to upgrade with every new OS though but it seemed that every upgrade was rigged with bugs and all I saw was people complain and hating it, whether it was Lion, ML, Mavericks, Yosemite, you name it. And as SL fit all my needs and was rock solid I saw no need to leave it. Now however I am beginning to lose functionality so I am forced to upgrade.

Having said that, I am getting used to El Capitan fast. I see the beachball a bit more than on SL I think (although that may improve once mdworker is ready indexing the drive for Spotlight) but other things are a bit more slick and smooth. One thing that is a complete mystery to me is Disk Utility. One can't do anything in there any more! You can't even set up RAID any more!! First time I openend it and saw the coloured bars I thought "right, that must be the toddlers' version, now where's the one for the grown-ups?" Not sure what the powers that be at Apple were thinking here, but I think it's bad.

Anyway, I think I'm getting a bit too off topic here. Sorry!

I love SL....however, I had no choice when it came to working with that requires new os x. I was intrigued when they announced the ability to use phone from computer. Welcome to os x capitan. I totally hear you as you love using SL.I hate the raid issue and disk utility...but hey you can blame that on Tim Cook and Jon Ivy...and their engineers.

Well, it seems it's not just Mail. I switched to MS Outlook to get away from the annoying warnings and sure enough, the warning appeared in Outlook as well and I can't find a way to switch it off there either. I then tried out Photos and sure enough, trying to delete a photo also gave me the pop-up warning. So it looks that this is an El Capitan thing. If that is true, somebody needs to find a solution!
