I'm trying to disable isight camera. I've tried QuickTimeUSBVDCDigitizer.component, but I don't even have that component in my system/library/quicktime folder. I also tried Apple_iSight.kext and that didnt work....I don't want to use isightdisabler.....does anyone know what file controls the camera and what I need to do.... or if there is already a thread here can someone lead me to it...

Thanks

Simple, but the laptop I want to disable isight on, my two teens use. Disabling it is a better solution...thanks

Apps the disable the drivers should work in thoery, but I discovered that there is more than on route to the camera. For example removing the quicktime component might prevent quicktime from recording video, but the command line app "iShot" can still take a photograph.

That is why I opted for the silver pen.

It's fairly surprising that there is nothing in setting for the camera. I always liked the idea of a mechanical shutter on them.

Steve Jobs would not have approved. It would ruin the astetics.

If Steve Jobs decided that web cams are cool, then he would have difficulty understanding why anyone would not want one.

No one uses video chat or FaceTime. On a normal phone call you are free to get on with other stuff and the person doesn't realise they don't have you full attention :D

True. I seldom sit while I am on the phone. I only need thier voice.

I use Viber to video chat with my wife using our phones. I like seeing her.
