You restore from the backup you took before you upgraded. There is no "downgrade" option. So i installed 10.11 but i would like to know how would i be able to downgrade back down to 10.10.3 ?? Thanks!
I never back up my old 10.10.310.11 is a beta test, and beta system software will always recommend that you have a full backup before you upgrade,so if things go wrong for you (it's a test system, remember?) - -
Boot to your recovery system. Erase the drive, and restore from your backup. The process may be somewhat different, depending on which process you used for your backup.
Bet these steps will be the same when the beta is released to the public
Fresh install (to me) means that you erased the drive, and installed your new system.I didn't back up...? I flashed one of my usb to a 10.11 install usb and then did a fresh install of 10.11
I never back up my old 10.10.3
What happens when you try and erase the drive when booted from the Yosemite USB key?Really stumped here. I have osx 10.11 on my Retina imac and, i do have backups however i have tried everything booted off yosemite usb disk, internet recovery which seems to work then just hangs, Tried the Pram reset, tried to restore a time machine backup, no matter what i try it wont allow me to erase partition or drive.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated
Cheers

It may be that the install converted your drive to a core storage volume. Run the command below in Terminal and tell us what it says.
Code:diskutil list
