How to downgrade from iOS 11 PB / Beta 2 to iOS 10.3.2

YOU WILL HAVE TO RESTORE YOUR DEVICE! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN ICLOUD BACKUP.

Q) Why can't I just skip installing iOS 10.3.3, and just go straight to iOS 10.3.2?

A) iOS 11 PB/Beta 2 won't downgrade to iOS 10.3.2 without failing, making you either have to restore your phone back to iOS 11 PB/Beta 2, or "update" it to iOS 11 PB/Beta 2, so you cannot downgrade unless you downgrade to iOS 10.3.3, then iOS 10.3.2.

iPhone 7:
iOS 10.3.3 IPSW download (click this)
iOS 10.3.2 IPSW download (click this)

iPhone 7+:
iOS 10.3.3 IPSW download (click this)
iOS 10.3.2 IPSW download (click this)

All other iDevices:
iOS 10.3.3 IPSW downloads (click this)
iOS 10.3.2 IPSW downloads (click this)

----Instructions----

Step 1) Download the iOS 10.3.3 IPSW, as well as the iOS 10.3.2 IPSW for your phone.
Step 2) Launch iTunes.
Step 3) Plug your phone into your computer.
Step 4) On the top left, you should see an iPhone icon, click on it.
Step 5) Windows method: Hold shift and select restore iPhone. Mac method: Hold command and select restore iPhone
Step 6) Select the iOS 10.3.3 IPSW download, and start the restore process.
Step 7) Once the restore is finished, repeat step 4 and 5.
Step 8) Now, select the iOS 10.3.2 download, and start the restore process.

That's exactly why I made this thread.

You see, iOS 11 PB/Beta 2 won't downgrade to iOS 10.3.X without failing, making you either have to restore your phone back to iOS 11 PB/DB2, or "update" it to iOS 11 PB/DB2, so you cannot downgrade unless you downgrade to iOS 11 beta 1, then iOS 10.3.X.

So yeah.

Your information that I bolded is out of date. iOS 11 Beta 2 will downgrade to iOS 10.3.3 without an issue. Apple has updated a support page to include that information. You don't need to go from iOS 11B2 -> iOS 11B1 -> iOS 10.3.x anymore. You can go directly from iOS 11B2->iOS 10.3.3. If you want to do iOS 10.3.3->10.3.2, you can, but not really needed.

iOS 10.3.1 will not downgrade correctly, so for the people with issues, I made the thread

You're still not following. You don't need to go to iOS 11B2 -> B1 -> 10.3.1. You can go iOS 11B2-> 10.3.3 and be done. iOS 10.3.1 probably wont be signed for much longer. Those that are looking to downgrade from iOS 11, just want to go back to 10, not specifically 10.3.1.

Yes, I am aware of that, but this thread was men't to downgrade to iOS 10.3.1/2, not beta versions of iOS 10.

The reason why people may want to stick with iOS 10.3.1/2 is because of jailbreaking purposes in the future.

People that upgraded to iOS 11 have no interest in jailbreaking. They want to downgrade because its not stable. They rushed to upgrade to iOS 11 because they were excited and wanted to go back.

The point is, you can either go back to iOS 11 B1, or 10.3.3, then go back to iOS 10.3.1/2

The purpose of this thread is to go back to iOS 10.3.1/2.

True, but people may be waiting for the jailbreak, but they went on iOS 11 to test it for a bit, then go back.
 
I think I may have bricked my phone. I went in to recovery mode to restore. It says it is restoring to 10.3.2. It reboots and phone goes dead. iTunes says waiting for iPhone and shows iTunes is updating the software on this iPhone. THe recovery mode then shows support.apple.com/iphone/restore and just sits there. Am I just being to impatient on the restore?

Do I need to call Apple or run to a nearby store?

The exact same thing happened to me before I looked into it.

The process of un-bricking it is a bit lengthy, but I'll guide you through it.

Download the iOS 11 Beta 2 IPSW (click this to download) and restore it onto your iPhone. Make sure you chosen the right model of your iPhone. Restoring it back to that iOS should end the recovery mode loop. Now, download the iOS 10.3.3 beta (click this to download) and restore it onto your iPhone. Make sure you chosen the right model of your iPhone. Now, download the iOS 10.3.2 IPSW (click this to download) and restore it onto your iPhone. Make sure you choose the right model of your iPhone.

Like I said, lengthy and tedious. It does take 5-10 minutes to restore an IPSW to your iPhone, but if it does take any longer, just be patient.

I tried and can get the iOS 11 back on. But even attempting the iOS 10.3.3 it gives me the prompt it needs an update or restore and won't let me do that OR 10.3.2. UGGG.

I restored back to 10.3.2 last night. The thing is you can't directly downgrade to 10.3.2. You have to download 10.3.3 PB from apple beta program website. Then put your phone on recovery mode and flash the ipsw. After than you can go back to 10.3.2 (Which you have to download seperately). If you try directly to go back to 10.3.2 you will be stuck on a recovery loop where your phone won't install iOS 10.

Apple's support page ensures that you need to restore from iOS 11 beta 2/PB to iOS 10.3.3 beta. After doing so, you may continue and restore fron iOS 10.3.3 to iOS 10.3.2.

That out of the way, I found out that if you restore from iOS 11 beta 2/DB to iOS 11 beta 1 instead of iOS 10.3.3. After restoring to iOS 11 beta 1, you can restore back to iOS 10.3.2 with no recovery loop.

This is exactly what happened to me last Friday night. I downloaded iOS11 (developer preview) and something went wrong. When I went to try and fix it by restoring, dfu mode, etc. nothing worked. I was lucky enough to get into Apple the next day and they just swapped out my phone for a replacement, I'm sure its probably a refurbished phone but at least I don't just have a bricked phone.

Yeah, I was considering getting a replacement but it would just be a hassle. I just fixed it myself with no problem.

Although, that is a good way to replace a cracked iPhone still under warranty for free haha.

EDIT: You got lucky, because the Apple stores are probably now aware of what is actually going on, since Apple has updated their support page.
