How to downgrade or update from OS X El Capitan Beta to Public release?

I tried searching on the net but couldn't find answers but I was wondering how can I get out of the Beta version to Public release?

Should I just download it and install it?

Just download OS X El Capitan from the mac app store. You'll get the public release.

Download the Public release. Reinstall OS X over the Beta installation. Thats it. Did it myself the other day. Works fine. No Data or apps lost. at least in my case.

For real? Stop giving advices because what you just said is just plain wrong. You know, just so you don't get to complain about bugs and errors on another thread.

Mac OS X ain't no magic bullet and mixing the beta with public releases by reinstalling over is like asking for trouble. At least Windows taught something right.

This is the ONLY way to get from 10.11 beta to a release version of 10.11.x without formatting the disk and starting over. It is not a matter of mixing beta and releases, and isn't like Windows.

It is sort of correct. When the thread was posted, the public release was the same or a newer build, so it worked. Installing 10.11.3 over 10.11.4 beta is not recommended. Even though the installer will probably make sure that the system is correctly installed, you may run into problems with local (application) data.

Nonetheless, simply installing a release version of OS X over the top of an older beta is not wrong.
