iPhone XS Max How to download messages from iMessage in the cloud?

I have my imessages backed up but I'm trying to retrieve messages from 2017. I have them all back uped in the cloud but there's too many to scroll through!

The only option is scrolling.

You have to scroll forever. It’s so stupid. I don’t understand why they focus on adding dumb features to Messages (stickers? Who uses those?) instead of adding useful capabilities like the ability to jump back to a specific date.

Me ‍♂️ I use stickers and loads of other iMessage apps everyday.
