So, not being an early adopter of new versions of the OS, I have waited until the final update to Yosemite has been released (10.10.5) and all (?) bugs fixed before upgrading from Mavericks. Did the same thing last year when upgrading from ML to Mavericks.

Problem is ... I seem to have left it a week or so too late this year and Apple (in their consummate wisdom) have now removed the Yosemite installer from their website. And I certainly don't want to be an early adopter with version 1 of El Capitan :)

I could, of course, download a torrent copy, but don't really fancy something so important as OS X potentially having trojans, keyloggers or whatever being added.

Does anyone know where I could download an authentic copy of the Yosemite 10.10.5 installer from Apple - perhaps there may be a copy on the Apple Developer's section somewhere?

Edit: Or .... does anyone know what the SHA / MD5 is for the 10.10.5 installESD.dmg should I have to get one via a torrent?

Thanks :)

Unless you have previously downloaded you cannot get it from apple. Only options are from other people / torrents. :(

Unless you have software that requires Yosemite it might be better to skip Yosemite completely, changes are that its "improvements" are not necessary for your needs compared to Mavericks and Yosemite still has some bugs... Or you could wait until El Capitan is improved enough (10.11.4 or 10.11.5).
