In my iPhone 11 Pro Max, ios 14.5, when I call a number directly from the webpage in Safari, for example a restaurant, that number sometimes includes the country prefix or it is in the old format, with only 8 digits, while now we require 10 digits (add 55 as prefix), so the number is dialed in the phone app, but it will not connect.
How can I edit a number typed or copied in the phone app in order to include a new prefix?.

Saving a contact and editing is not desired as I dont want to save a contact for every single phone number I dial!, nor coping the number, pasting to Notes Apps, editing, coping again, change to phone app, paste is a looong way to simply edit or correct a number to be dialed. Is it impossible after +10 years of iPhone?, why is the phone part of iPhone neglected?

The edit function on the keypad for a pasted in number only allows users to delete from the right, so I don't believe there's a way to do that without retyping the whole string. But the Phone > Dial Assist setting is supposed to help determine "the correct international or local prefix dialing." I'm unable to find out details about how that works, but it's worth checking whether that's enabled in your settings.
