iPhone 3GS Voice Control on iPhone 3G and iPhone 2G

Well apparently "there's an app for that"

Stumbled across this today, just passing on the info.

[snip]

PS: I did a MRoogle check, but all the threads were real old and none I could find here in the iPhone Hacks section

This isn't really enabling the native voice control feature. It's a cracked and skinned version of Vocalia, a third-party voice-command app available for $3.99 in the App Store.

You know, while I usually find myself agreeing with you, this is apparently a copy cat app with a different display interface.

It says nothing about that on the website, and it is not a website that promotes piracy.

Of course I wouldn't encourage such and it is not a link to a cracked version of Vocalia .

And of course it isn't enabling the native voice control feature as a 3G or 2G doesn't have any such native capability.

Certainly, you know that.

But it is a cracked version of Vocalia, with with some images changed modifications. That much is made clear by the fact that the screen cap still shows the original Vocalia menus and even the name "Vocalia" at the top. Maybe CydiaUpdates doesn't realize it's a pirated app, but that doesn't make it not one.

And While I do agree it seems to be a slightly disguised version (copy, pirated version, whatever) of the original, I like CydiaUpdates, would have never placed it here had I known. Heck, I never heard of Vocalia before, figured it was just an Italian word placed in the header by the developer. You being the latinist, probably knew better.

Live & learn.

Much appreciated! I've been looking for this type of utility for my 3g since the 3gs was announced, so happy someone finally found something like this :)

Seems like a cool app. I'm not going to pirate it though and I don't think the pricetag is something worth it to me. Oh well.

dhlizard, now that you know are you going to edit out the link or post a link to the actual app?
