I understand Apple didn't support SSL in the original El Capitain, so any software connecting to internet throught that
can't connect.

I wonder tho, if there's a work around, a tool , any way either directly from Apple or another way to do it?

Thanks!!

SSL is supported in El Capitan, it's just that the root CA certificate baked into the OS has expired. This certificate expiration actually impacted many, many web sites and users at the time of expiration. It was a major PITA. You can update the certificate in El Capitan, and keep chugging along with SSL, by following these linked instructions... or you can manually "turn back the clock" by setting your system date+time to a date earlier than Sept 30 2021 (which comes with its own ugly caveats).

Thanks so much!!! I'm gonna follow your instructions..in a day or two. As a btw, is it a procedure that can have irreversible side effects?

If so, is there either some terminal commands one can do..or is the safest bet a time machine bu? Thanks!!
