In switching over I used the Migration assistant. However, none of the network locations came across.

Now I remember this did not happen before the M1 machines either and one had to do this by hand.

On the Intel Mac the file was located in Library - Preferences - System configuration - preferences.plist. On the M1 Mac I can not find the System configuration folder.

Anybody know how to do this?

I migrated from a MP 2013 and all the network settings were retained, including all wireless networks that had been joined by other devices.

When using migration I always tell users only transfer saved email boxes and settings, picture/videos and saved documents plus text file containing all your big programs/shareware series numbers! Don't transfer programs just download them and put in your serial numbers into the new update software! However transfer Network Settings because Apple has changed it's location in Mac OS X over years transiting network settings always fail!

I've never had to do it by hand, Migration Assistant always brought the settings across. You just have to check the "System & Network" box.

M1 machines still have /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration .
