I have a 2 TB HD that is almost full ... mostly with photos. I have been using iPhoto, Photos and PSE organizer .... is there a way to see actually where the files are that are taking up so much space? I'm wondering if the photo aps somehow have copied photos.

Do this:

Open Finder
Select Go on menu bar
Select Computer
Select Macintosh HD
Select Users and select your little home folder icon
Select View on menu bar
Select "As List"
>Select View on menu bar and the select "Show View Options"
>When the next window opens select "arrange by" and then select Size
>Scroll down to the bottom of that same window and put a check mark beside "calculate all sizes" and then close the window
>You should then have a Finder window that shows your file types and sizes from greatest to least
