So, I was thinking about getting this to fit an SSD on my Mac Pro 3.1:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005B0A6...TF8&colid=2JRAX8IBFH4WS&coliid=I1980J80AEU305

Since it doesn't have any sort of plate to put the SSD on it, how would I actually fit the SSD inside the Mac Pro?
I thought that maybe one of those 2.5 to 3.5 drive sleds would work but I'm not sure how the cable from the SSD to the PCI-E card would fit...

Thanks,
Renato

I know the Apricorn Velocity X2 cards support 6Gbps SATA SSDs on a PCIe x2 card mounted on a slot (but they have the mounts on the card to make it fit) I wouldnt expect a Syba card with a ASmedia 1061 chip to work on mac (I have that syba card but in the eSata version in my PC)

I did take a look at the Apricorn, but I can't find it anywhere in Europe. The only way I could get it would be from Ebay. With delivery costs it would set me for around 140$..

Still looking for cheaper alternatives, any ideas?

What's your country?

Portugal.

I just went to Apricorn's website and found some European Dealers (why didn't I thought of that before?) -_-

It's still a bit over my budget, though.

85.95£ at MegaMac.Co.Uk. (excluding shipping costs)
That's almost 150$
