I had the mail issue last night when I jailbroke using the new modmyifone, GUI, everything worked perfect, so if anyone wants, I can say it was easy and it worked. YouTube works perfect to btw.

To fix the mail issue, SSH into your phone, var/mobile/library/mail

Delete this mail folder, and wait a few seconds, then go add a mail account by opening mail. This worked for me.

Be sure to back up the folder before though. (You should always backup any folder your deleting or changing. I learned this the hard way with springboard.app)

This fix worked for me. Mail no longer crashes, runs smoothly, and I can add and delete accounts with ease. Once you do this, you can either sync with iTunes, or just manually add. I went manual. Hope this helps someone!

yeah, i did this yesterday too, and it shockingly fixed it. and then i was like OMFGWTF?! something actually worked first try? am i getting less retarded? no, probably not. but yes, this is good advice.

When I try to check my yahoo mail I get this message,

"the user name or password for "imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com" is incorrect.

Will you fix take care of that? What's going on here?

I am also getting the:

Cannot Get Mail
The user name or password for
"imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com" is
incorrect"

I get this when I try to add a new yahoo account.

Everything worked fine before the 1.1.3 jailbreak. Used Ziphone to jailbreak 1.1.3.

Has anyone figured out how to fix yahoo on 1.1.3 jailbreak and youtube?

I tried installing the youtube fix from installer and it didn't do anything.

Can anyone help please?

Some app that we installed is leaving some kind of residual file remnants on the phone.

Even doing a "Clean" 1.1.3 restore is leaving something behind.

We have to go back to go back to 1.1.1 jailbreak then SSH into the file system and wipe the files clean me thinks. Someone have the time to try it?:)

I have a otb 1.1.2 and just upgraded to 1.1.3 and jailbroke my phone. I shouldn't have to go back 1.1.1 should I?

Another fix is if you use ziphone to jailbreak, DON'T check Activate.:) if your on AT&T that is.

So does this fix the youtube and yahoo mail problem?

Also when you say don't activate when do you stop the restore process? Do you have to unplug before a restore is complete, or are you prompted to activate? I can't remember.

Also if you don't activate, will all your settings and contacts stay the same? or do you have to add them through a backup?

One last question. Do you do the restore minus activation before you jailbreak or after? I assume before, but I'm a rookie. thanks.

I'm a newbie and I experienced the same prob.
But, I don't know what does "SSH into your phone, var/mobile/library/mail " mean.
Would u plx explain that a little bit?
I really appreciate your sharing!

Probably not something you should do right off, I would suggest! SSHing into your phone is a good way to f*k it all up if you are not careful.

Essentially, it is a secure FTP into the phone.

Some of the iPhone hacking sites have good tutorials on setting it up and how to do it.

If you are NOT 100% sure of how to do it, DO NOT DO IT.
