iPhone How to fix push notifications on iphone 3g

I bought a jail broken and unlocked iphone 3g 4.2.1 and i noticed that when someone would text me from my real number i would get notifications but when they texted my textplus gold i would not get notifications
Anyone knows whats going on?
Yes push notifications are on in settings

Yes push notifications are on in settings

You can try deactivating then re-activating the phone via SAM (unless you have it currently activated using an original sim) http://www.bingner.com/SAM.html

Otherwise it is an issue with the app itself.

I'm not very tech savvy, Is there a chance anything could mess-up and or break?
