Ever since Big Sur came out I always get this bluetooth disconnection that never happened in all Mac OS X versions before. Has anyone fixed this without being told by someone at discussions.apple.com to re-format your hard drive and re-inistall your whole life?

(Frustrated)

What Mac? What OS version? What is the Bluetooth device that keeps disconnecting?

I'm sure you were already told to delete the device from the Bluetooth preferences and try re-pairing it? Many times that can solve connection issues.

It also depends on the device we're talking about. For instance, Logitech devices have a bad reputation for Bluetooth connections - they use a different version of Bluetooth than is built-in Apple's devices more often than not, and they two don't seem to play well together. In this case, most people end up "fixing" the problem by not using Bluetooth to connect it and switch to the USB Unified Receiver that ships with their products.

Yep. Which Mac? What OS version? What is the Bluetooth device?

Apple reworks the Bluetooth stack in Monterey extensively for low energy Bluetooth. OS 12.0.1 causes problems for many Bluetooth devices including Apple's own devices. With 12.0.1, my Logitech Bluetooth Mouse (M557) causes the OS to crash and reboot randomly on a MacBook Air M1 2020. Thanks goodness, the random OS crashes were fixed in OS 12.1. However, I am aware of people using Logitech MX Bluetooth mouse still having problem with OS 12.1.

A bit disappointing as Apple has a much smaller Eco system to test its OS releases compared to Microsoft.
