If you have purchased ML from the APP Store then the Installer from that can be used to create a USB key installer once that is done you can re-install from it.

I assume you bought Mountain Lion from the App Store with your AppleID.

If you did, this is simple and there is no need to make a USB key.

Just command-r boot to the recovery partition. Start Disk Utility and erase Macintosh HD. Quit Disk Utility and click reinstall OS. You will be prompted for the AppleID you used to buy Mountain Lion. Then wait while the 4.7GB OS downloads and installs.

At the end you will have a clean install and you will be prompted by a setup screen to either make a new account or import your data.
