On Saturday evening while on the iCloud web app I accidentally delete a rather important @me.com alias that I have use frequently when signing up for services etc.

I was surprised by how easy it was, one click and that was it gone, no warning, no pop-up. Just deleted.

The problem is I cannot simply wait 7 days then reinstate as all the alias's are now '@icloud.com'.
I opened a support ticket and rang the support line only to find someone clueless on the other end who promptly hung up.
What is the best course of action to get the alias reinstated?
Is there a special contact number or an email I could try?

I was also wondering if it is at all possible to change your primary email to one of your alias addresses. (I know it is probably not officially but if you got in contact with the right person.......)

As you could imagine I want to regain control of the address as I want to limit the amount of email backlog and do not wish to not receive something important. :(

All advice is welcomed, thanks.

unfortunately, i think you're out of luck...

apple always had this weird thing with Aliases where you couldn't even change an alias into a primary address, even after you no longer used it as an alias.

and then there's their constant changing of domain names - .mac, .me and now.icloud which screws around even further with their supposed elegance

sigh :apple:

icloud alias fiasco

Apple went one better on me: they deleted the alias (@me.com) that I used as my main address. Unless they can restore it quickly, I am defecting to Samsung.com. It may be a worse address but I will be welcomed and supported as a reformed junkie (unlike my calls to Apple support which so far have been met with indifference ) - Time to escape the sect of Apple?
