Hopefully this is the correct area to place this. Also, please excuse me if it has been posted before.
I was somewhat surprised that after my very recent purchase of my late 2018 Mac Mini, the startup chime was no longer present. Did not know why, but then I did read something about that "feature". Has not bothered me much, but I did miss it.
Well, I saw this earlier today on the excellent site tidbits.com:

As one can see, it takes a one line Terminal command. Just a few minutes ago I tried it, and it works!
So, if you are missing that startup chime, mystery solved!
The only thing is that for any subsequent Catalina updates (I am using the latest version of Catalina, OS 10.15.3), one will need to run it again. I have saved that command to a LibreOffice Writer Document, so that I have it.
