I am running the latest non-beta build of El Capitan on a new mid-2015 iMac/Retina and just started using a non-Apple Bluetooth Mouse.

How do I get the OS to see/acknowledge the side buttons on the mouse? It is an Tecknet BM306 Bluetooth mouse. It connected fine in the Bluetooth settings panel but I don't see anyway to assign the side buttons.

(I did check the manufacturer's website and they have nothing as far as a FAQ or manual BTW.)

It seems they only have Windows drivers. :(

I have that mouse or an older version of it: http://www.roccat.org/de-AT/Products/Gaming-Mice/Kone-XTD-Series/Kone-XTD/

They have drivers for OS X on their website. When I install them I get an icon in the System Preferences and can configure everything and even change the LED-colors for example.
Thanks but that is not the same mouse and (more importantly) the one you linked to does not even seem to be a Bluetooth mouse - at least according to the picture, so I doubt their Mac drivers would work.

Yes I know. I just wanted to tell you, that you need a mouse with drivers for OS X if it has more than standard features and to look out for the availability of those drivers before you buy a mouse.
