I recently got a PC keyboard (Ducky Shine) for my iMac and everything works amazing outside of the boot commands. It seems the iMac will not recognize the alt button and it will always boot into OS X. I have been using my old wireless Apple keyboard to boot into Windows but would like to be able to just use the new PC keyboard.

I have the windows / alt keys swapped so they are the same as the Apple format. I have tried all 3 usb ports (per an old thread) and all four windows / alt buttons. I am also using karabiner for FN keys but I assume that should not have an effect before startup. None of them work in getting me to the startup manager.

Any ideas / solutions?

If you swapped key assignment in software, that does not usually affect the keyboard assignments until the system loads. So, that doesn't affect the firmware boot keys. A windows keyboard will usually respond to the Windows key to get the boot manager, but there's nothing guaranteed about that.
If your Windows keyboard doesn't send the proper key commands to the Mac, then you need to try a different keyboard.
As cbrand493 says, there's other brands that will do what you like.
