Has anyone made an app to do this? I realize that the speed would be terrible, but it seems like there should be some way to either make a wired or wireless connection from the phone to say a Macbook, and browse the internet where there is no wifi.

I'm about to go on a train and would love to know if this functionality existed.

Maybe you should put a question mark in your title or give it a better title to indicate its a question.. Some people here get quite worked up with this kind of stuff...

But in answer to your question.. No.. Its not possible right now as Apple does not give you the Bluetooth profiles to allow it to connect to te computer.. Also the official carriers of the iPhone forbid you from using the data on anyhting other than an iPhone..

It's a no-go for right now, I guess. I can't download the app, even after refreshing sources and everything. Oh well. I'll try later.
