How to get HD Content

How do you guys get HD content ripped to your computer?

there is podcasts in hd, home movies in hd, if your in the states i think you can use digital box to record and get the content over firewire, or you can go the illegal route of dl torrents or ripping an hd disk which cannot be discussed further in these forums.
