How to get Mac Pro to connect wirelessly today?

I need to know if there are any options to get the Mac Pro to connect to my wireless network today. I bought a stock Mac Pro from the Houston Apple Store and I ordered a Mac Pro Airport kit from PowerMax but they do not expect for it to ship for 5-10 days. Can I use a USB wireless adapter with my Mac Pro to get it connected in the mean time? Can I use a wireless PCI card or are the PCI-E slots even backwards compatible? Of course there are wireless USB adapters for Macs but do the drivers have to be universal? Any help would be appreciated.

No, our nearest phone jack for DSL is two rooms away.

the only USB adapter I know of is from afterthemac.com . I have yet to see any devices from any of the main brands.

Long ethernet cable?

If you have an AirPort Express you can turn on bridging (if your router is compatible) and plug the Mac Pro into it. Otherwise, your only other option is ethernet.

If there is another mac with AirPort already installed near you, you could turn on Internet sharing and connect the Mac Pro to it.

I will try using the AirPort express to connect. Didn't think of that.

I found this item over at Radio Shack's website that allows you to use your homes electrical wiring to transmit network siginals. I can't seem to bring up its availablility in the stores, though. Does anyone know of a similar product?

I bought the D-Link DWL-G122 wireless adapter and it works great on my Mac Pro. For anyone looking to get wireless access on your Mac Pro's, you might want to give it a try. It works great with my AirPort Express so I can still use my printer wirelessly as well as stream iTunes.

I will be using this until my AirPort kit comes in in 3-4 weeks.

I was actually going to suggest this item as it's one we sell and one of the first USB adapters I've seen that states on the box Mac compatibility. I also believe Belkin has been selling an adapter through the Apple Store that should work on Intel Macs too, but I haven't yet been able to confirm this one.

Did this plug and play? I got a different dlink model and its not working. I think I will take it back and try to find the exact model you have.
