Hi,
I'm new on this forum. This weekend I will get my MP5,1 six core and 48 Gb memory, Mojave and with metal card support.
I own a MP2,1 with El Capitain.

Question:
What are the steps to take to get my TimeMachine backup in the MP5,1 so I don't have to install everything again. I have no 32bits program's as far as I know. Main use is Logic and I want the newest version which came out.

Hope for your help,

Thanks,
Philip

If the MP5,1 requires initial setup when you first turn it on the connect the MP2,1 Time Machine BU when it asks if you want to migrate data.

If the MP5,1 boots to the Finder desktop without needing initial setup then use the Migration Assistant app:
(Recommend making a backup of the new MP5,1 on a external HD (do NOT use the MP2,1 Time Machine BU) before migrating the data from the MP2,1 Time Machine BU data)
