Good day all,

I need Catalina and Radeon VII and maybe my OWC Accelsior 1M2 NVME for pcie to work just like others that I've seen on this site. But I cannot get the @#!..Radeon VII to give me a display.

I would like to use Accelsior to work as my boot drive.

MP came with Yosemite and I upgrade it to Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur and Monterey.Through each upgrade I swapped out Radeon
right after installation, also after up grades, went back and forth between pcie slots, installed each os about 2 to 3 times. I downloaded OpenCore Legacy and have the Pixlas Mod, the fans come on and lights up. I even ordered the GTX Titan and RX 580 off Amazon to see if they worked......samething no display.

I've read many threads and watched the Youtube videos but cannot get a response from them guys.

Videos I tried
"EnableGop: Native Bootpicker with every GPU at the 2:26 PART 4" INJECTING THE DRIVER- you take the MacBin file from Download to your ROM folder (ON Video). On my MP it wont let me move nothing into the ROM folder

"How to Install OpenCore from SCRATCH on 5,1" didnn't come with a config PList and the RadeonGadget.app had a grey circle over it.

There's another one but I could not find it.

OpenCore has so many versions to look at. I finally found OpenCore Legacy (I think its Martin Lo version) but it don't show (or I haven't figured it out) how to get the Radeon VII to work or give you a display. Looking through the Mac Forum I saw somewhere about needing to turn on the EnableGOPRendering but there's no button, tab nor check box on OpenCoreLagacy.

I'm back on Big Sur again hoping to use this os or anything Calalina and above. The mac is working fine and I won't install any apps that I need until everything is up and running.

I've been back and forth struggling with this for a couple of months. Yes, I'm sure that I'm beating a dead horse. But I need Radeon VII, Accelsior /NVME, Catalina and up to to work for video editing. Sorry for the rants

Thanks in advance

OCLP have two enormous problems:

  • first one is that you need to have pre-boot configuration support working to install it. Updating the Radeon VII GPU firmware to the most recent version and injecting EnableGop to the Mac Pro BootROM image solves that forever. If you can't do the BootROM injection, BootROM reconstruction service solves that, you just need to take care the VII GPU firmware by yourself with Windows/Linux.
  • second one is that for all effects you can't change hardware after you install macOS via OCLP, if you change anything after the fact, you are in your own to make it work, since OCLP root patching removes the drivers for anything else besides the hardware used at the install process. Changing the GPU while installing is asking for trouble.
How about taking an step back and installing Mojave 10.14.6 first, flashing the VII with the most recent GPU firmware that is UEFI GOP compatible and then and making EnableGop (not EnableGopRendering, but real EnableGopv1_4) to work? Mojave works fine with Radeon VII and after you get everything working as expected you can try an unsupported macOS release.

Anything else is just a workaround and won't solve your real issue.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for your response.

I like the 3rd step taking an step back and installing Mojave 10.14.6 first .

Uninstall OCLP? Fresh Mojave install, And will I be able to flash the Radeon through the MP with Mojave?
Is EnableGopv1_4 a part of OpenCore?

Uninstall OCLP?

Remove all disks, install Mojave to a spare one.

Fresh Mojave install, And will I be able to flash the Radeon through the MP with Mojave?

Like I wrote already, Windows or Linux required.

Is EnableGopv1_4 a part of OpenCore?

I don't have linux. I only use a laptop when searching online. I guess Ill search for a gadget to connect graphic card to a laptop or find a computer shop.
