I signed out of iCloud on a mid-2015 rMBP 15" (10.10.2), but it still seems to be lurking. I've done the following:

1. Signed out of iCloud
2. Ensured that the device is removed from Find my iPhone

The only thing I haven't done is format the hard drive, something I'd prefer to avoid, since it's a work computer (but will do if it's a last resort).

Problem is that:

1. I'm still getting notifications on the MBP when I add/remove devices from my iCloud account.
2. Although I'm signed out of Messages, when I start up the app, it still has my iCloud email pre-filled in the app/account login window.

So, is there some step I'm missing from scrubbing the MBP entirely of my iCloud account?

Make a new admin account and move your data over. Than delete the old admin account. Should save you the hassle of formatting and reinstalling apps.
