Hi. On my macbook pro, my desktop screen has a transparent box on it which just stays there. I restart the macbook and it will go but then it will then appear again. How do I get rid of this?
Nothing is jumping out at me in your Etrecheck report there, but the fact it goes away in safe mode is proof positive it is some launch item listed there. What I would do is just start removing those items half at a time and restarting to test until you figure out which one it is.I have the same problem and I followed your advice and did the EtreCheck.
Thank you so much! How do I remove those items sorry?
~/Library/LaunchAgents (~ is your users folder)
/Library/LaunchAgents
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/StartupItems
/System/Library/Extensions/
I had the same issue, identical-looking transparent blue rectangleI have the same problem, it's intermittent. I'm using a 2019 iMac17" Mojave. I can make it go away but how can it be prevented?
hello,Definitely looks like some program is putting it there. Or maybe Spotlight. Maybe check to your Login items in System Preferences under the Users panel and see if there's some software you don't want starting up in the background.
You are asking for Windows 11 support on a mac forum.....good luckhello,
I have the same problem on windows 11. Could you tell me what i can do?
I can't seem to find system preferences on my device.
thank you
Thank you, @groobert! This info has eluded me for a long time. Size and shape fit "divvy". How did you come across Divvy being the culprit? I signed up just to send this shout out. A thousand smilesI had the same issue, identical-looking transparent blue rectangle
Turns out the culprit was a little app called Divvy. Just restarted it and the rectangle was gone.
