I have an iPhone 4S. It's a 16G with Verizon, never updated because I love the old Google Map app for when I take my walks and have only used it as a wifi ipod. (My new other iPhone has ios6 and Apple Maps is fine for when i drive)

Anyway, I just got phone service to my old 4S, and it's still with ios5 but no siri. Is there any way to update the phone to get Siri, but still stay with ios5 so I can keep my Google Map app (I prefer this one to the new Google Map app) but I miss the speech-to-text feature for taking notes.

I definitely want to stay within ios5 but get the Siri feature... is there any way to do this without jalebrakeeng it? I love the Apple stuff and want to keep it righteous, but without doing to forced updating all the way.

Thank you for your help! :)

The iPhone 4S came with iOS 5, which included Siri, thus it is strange, that you somehow have lost Siri. Have you looked at the Settings yet?

Oh man thanks so much! I've been refreshing this post since yesterday hoping to add Siri to this phone. Now I wish I could delete the post because I feel like an idiot!!

But thanks again- whatever the reason (good or stupid) I didn't have Siri before, and now I do. Thanks Simsa! :)
