How to get Siri to remember your birthday?

I thought this was one of Siri's abilities, but I can't get her to remember my birthday or someone elses. When I say "Shawna's birthday is on July 12th, 1988" it comes back and says it does not know what it means.

I want to be able to ask when peoples birthdays are etc.

Put them in your contacts, Siri can pull them from there.

This requires four steps.

1. Fly to India
2. Meet, court and marry a beautiful Indian woman named Siri
3. Tell her your date of birth
4. Wait and hope

Is the date in a form recognizable by the software?

Try it without the year.
