After I say "Hey Siri, lamp on", Siri turns off the lamp -- yay, thank you Siri -- but Siri goes on a monologue like some frustrated aging stage actor telling me how he did it, what he did, and saying my name. Is there a way to just Siri to complete a shortcut silently?

Wish this was a setting. I haven't been able to find a way to do this.
Seems like we’re probably not the only people who’d like this. I did find something online about adding a “Speak” text and then “[space]” for the last command so that’s Siri is simply waiting? But I’ve not figured out how to create the command to test it.

Strange, but for Me Siri responds verbally only for actions on my Smart Power Strip. On My Wemo Smart plug for my lamp, Silence no response. What Gives Siri? ;-)

Siri usually only confirms if the device she changed is in a different room (that goes for my Homepod for example. It's in the living room and if I tell Siri to turn the lights off there she turns them off without a comment. If I tell her to turn off the bed room lights she will confirm with a message). The "phone Siri" probably always confirms, but I don't know, because I hardly use the phone for Siri.

All of My Homekit gear including Homepod Mini is in one room. Siri only responds to My Powerstrip. Not really a big deal, only weird.

Hmmm. I’ll have to pay more attention. Right now, Siri goes on a soliloquy when I ask it to turn off a light through a shortcut since I’ve not figured out how to get tp-link/Kasa light bulbs to work on HomeKit (I had them to use with Amazon smart home stuff.)

Interesting. Siri is so complex.

For the Kasa-app light, after turning it on, Siri will say “Okay, done, Little Bug, reading lamp is turned on.” Doesn’t read long on a screen maybe, but in real life, I’m like the light turning on was a big giveaway and enough really.

I know that with HomePod, it will say "Ok Errin, calling so and so" because you have personal requests turned on. It will say your name to confirm that it got the right person when doing the personal request.

Any time i ask siri to turn stuff on or off it seems like the only time she talks to me is if something didn't work right. If I say "turn on the living room light" it either turns on or she says "something went wrong" or "the device is not responding"

Are you using an Apple TV as a home hub? I have noticed its a lot more reliable using that, hardwired, than it is using just the HomePod itself.

Mine are personalised, but I wish the frequent "who is speaking?" demand would stop.
I get this whenever my voice happens to be altered, eg, sinus.
