My PC, along with an extensive and expensive itunes library, was irreperably destroyed by a virus a while ago, leaving all my songs stuck in my iPod. I'm getting a 17" Powerbook G4 now, so that I'll never have the virus problem again. But from what I hear, Apple makes it close to impossible to transfer songs from an ipod to a new computer-- yet it's the only way to save my music. How can I do this?

Do a search for iPodRip. It's a fantastic program with a very easy interface (almost identical to iTunes). It will let you copy from the iPod to your iTunes library.

Good luck!

Yeah iPod rip is good. The only thing I don't like, is some of my playlists are in MY order.. Not ABC, Album, artist, etc... And in iPod rip you can't arrange them by #'s when you import.. Other than that, good program :)

iPodRip is limited to 250 songs, and you have to do each song one by one. I recommend Senuti.

i dunno, maybe i bought iPodRip... i cant remember. but i transfered my old 3G iPod (PC formatted) to my PowerBook no probs, all 13Gb transfered. took a while but it worked.

You must've bought it. The trial version (at least the one that I used a month or so ago) only allowed me to transfer 250 songs.
