how to get the ANC mode toggle on MacOS?

M1 Macbook Air. Latest software (11.5.2). Airpods Pro latest firmware (3Ewhatever).

My first pair of airpods pro...when they were connected to laptop, i could see the ANC modes like this

Then I lost that pair (boohoo ), and the replacement pair I received today... do not show the ANC options.

MacOS volume dropdown only shows laptop speakers, airpods pro, and other devices. no off/nc/transparency option.

ideas?

Maybe your new pair needs a firmware update?

nevermind i reconnected them to computer and it shows up
