I've decided that after discovering the moo, whine, and peeling, I'm going to try to exchange it and hope for no dead pixels and the rest fixed.

So, how do I go about doing such a thing? Should I set up an appointment with the genius bar? Do i need to repackage it in it's original packaging (which would definately be a problem...)? I assume that I'll need to bring in a receipt, but it was charged to my parents credit card, do I need to bring them in as well? Anything else I'd need to do?

Right, so i know it's a question that probably seems dumb and obvious to the rest of you but i'd really appreciate a comment consisting of "yeah sounds about right" if nothing else

If you truly are having problems, then bring it back to the Apple store. You should get the option of 1) fix the computer or 2) replace the computer as DOA. You will most likely need to have the person who actually paid for the computer be there with the credit card. I did something similar 1 1/2 years ago with my powerbook. Sorry, but I don't exactly remember their procedures.

Shouldn't be a problem for you.

regards.

Edit: This is assuming your purchase was with the last 10-14 days (again, I don't remember Apple's exact policy). If it has been longer, I believe your only option is that they will fix the computer. Call Applecare.
