Classic Mac Pro with 10.13.6. I'm starting a new Time Machine drive as the old one filled up. Checking startup drive with disk utility and Drive Genius indicates a consistency error which could not be repaired but tells me to fix asap. Suggested fix is to clone startup disk, reformat and clone back but before I attempt this I want to start my new time machine drive. Will the consistency error cause the TM backup to be corrupted or will files be OK (as they seem to be)? Is it OK to clone and partition disks from the affected boot drive, which does not have a recovery partition? I could use a Drive Genius startup but would prefer Carbon Copy Cloner on boot drive.
