Does anyone know if you can ichat between and old ibook running os9 and a new powerbook g4 running osx?
I would like to mainly be able to get the voice/audio working as well as the video.
Is it right ichat was not available for os9? and that we must use another product??
thanks in advance

iChat was never available for os 9. For text chat, you could use aol instant messenger. For video, the only other compatible program is AIM 5.5, which is only for windows. Too bad. There still might be some non iChat apps that could do it.

I know that Yahoo Messenger has Video Chat also...now whether there's a OS 9 version available...you'd have to check.

Thanks for the reply,

has anyone tried installng Carbonlib 1.6 on os9 to emulate os10 to os9 backward compatibilty then installed AIM 4.7 for videoconferencing?
Yahoo doesnt support videoconferencing for Mac. (noaudio)
